Hello All 🙂 My name is Natesha Tabor, Program Manager for our California Youth Energy Services (CYES) program. I’m sitting here at my desk with my colleague’s full spectrum light soaking up the artificial sun; I’m from Florida so I take the sun however I can get it, although the Bay Area has had some record heat in the past week. Today the weather decided to do an about face and go really cold, thus I’m accompanied by an electric space heater behind me fluctuating between 1,141 and 1,187 watts, according to “Kill A Watt”, realizing just how energy consuming some appliances are and that we have a lot of work to do in replacing with more efficient technologies.

CYES is gearing up for its summer youth employment program and is in search of youth and young adults who desire to serve their community by learning practical skills to lower energy and water use in homes, grow professionally and give back to their community. This summer I’ll be recruiting and hiring 84 Energy Specialists for our East Bay CYES programs to make a big impact on energy efficiency and water conservation in the Bay Area serving over 2,000 residents in 7 weeks. So far this Spring CYES has been in partnership with area high schools and community organizations as a welcomed guest in classrooms, school auditoriums and hiring tables on the quads of area high schools. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming an Energy Specialist, I encourage you to read the job description and then send me your application which can be found on our website.

CYES is rolling full steam ahead and the summer will be here before we know it! I look forward to working with you 🙂

Be well,

Natesha
