In continuation of this pursuit, youth participants ages 18 and over from low-income households around the greater Bay Area will have the opportunity to build their resumes and professional skills through work-based learning as Energy Specialist Drivers, who will lead the transportation of Green House Call team members to client’s houses along with appropriate number of needed home measures.

The Climate Careers program was started by a small group of high school youth as a way to take direct environmental action in their community. In 2022, up to 45 youth participants will have the opportunity to build their resume and professional skills through work-based learning as Energy Specialists and Leaders in Field Training (LIFT). The LIFT position is for emerging climate leaders ages 18–24 from low-income households.

The Outreach Associate (OA) works with the Outreach Manager to generate client leads and book appointments as part of a regional grassroots outreach campaign. This position is a fantastic opportunity for motivated individuals looking to increase their community outreach, marketing, and communication experience while gaining a foothold in the non-profit and sustainability sectors.

The Program Assistant is responsible for supporting regional management teams across our four programmatic regions. The main goal of the PA is to provide operational and administrative support, recruitment and outreach, Green House Call delivery and quality control.

The Program Assistant (PA) is responsible for supporting regional management teams in Stockton. The main goal of the PA is to provide operational and administrative support, recruitment and outreach, Green House Call delivery, and quality control. The PA will learn the various aspects of the Climate Careers program and will gain experience in youth development. This position calls for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who can balance multiple priorities. The PA reports directly to the Regional Manager.

The Regional Manager is a full-time position on the Climate Careers team that reports directly to the Senior Program Manager and supervises a team of temporary staff members. In addition, the Regional Manager, Bay Area works in collaboration with the Director of Youth Programs, a second Regional Manager, Bay Area, and the rest of the Climate Careers team. This position is an integral part of Rising Sun’s commitment to youth and communities throughout the Bay Area.

The Site Program Manager (SiPM) position implements the Climate Careers program in a specific county, or set of counties, throughout the greater Bay Area and San Joaquin County while also supporting the overall goals of the Climate Careers program. The SiPM will be responsible for site office administration (with support from a SPM during the summer months), youth management, client identification and scheduling, and oversight of service delivery to residential clients.

The SPM will work with a Leader-In-Field Training (LIFT) and is jointly responsible for site office administration, youth management, client identification and scheduling, and oversight of service delivery to residential clients.

The Youth Development Specialist (YDS) is responsible for supporting a cohort of 20-22 youth, ages 15-24, in two Climate Careers Bay Area regions. The main goal of the YDS is to help youth identify and overcome barriers to employment for the purpose of full program retention and participation.
