Yet another group of GETS graduates gets sent out into the world today.  Graduations are always an interesting thing in the life of a training manager.  On the one hand, I am so proud of this group of individuals because I know how hard they have worked for this graduation.  On the other hand, I am a little sad because I don’t get to see them on a daily basis now.  But I know they are ready.  They are ready to go out there and change the world – one house at a time.  I know they are going to make a difference.  I know they are going to work hard at reducing carbon emissions.  I  know they will leave their clients’ homes healthier, safer, more durable, more comfortable and more efficient than when they found them.  I know our generation is proving every day that we are up to this task.  We are not afraid to roll up our sleeves and get the job done.

Our generation may have not created the system that created climate destabilization, but, up to now, we have been actively complicit.  No more.  We are solving this.  One step at a time.

I have no doubt that in 50 years, when we look back at our body of work, we will appreciate that we didn’t waste time making excuses or just spinning our wheels.  We took care of our responsibilities.  We took action.  We got the job done.  And our children and their children will thank us.

Off to staff meeting!
