Green House Calls^®

When you opt for in-person service, during the summer, we’ll send a team of Energy Specialists to your house to do all the work for you!

All staff follow strict safety protocols designed by Rising Sun that comply with community guidelines.

Green House Calls can take 30 minutes to two hours, depending on the size of your home.

Any PG&E residential customer who hasn’t received the Green House Call service in the past five years (don’t worry, we can look that up for you) is eligible for either in-person or virtual service.

Currently, in-person Green House Call service is offered exclusively in the following cities:

Alameda County:

• Berkeley
• Emeryville
• Hayward
• Oakland
• Piedmont
• San Leandro
• San Lorenzo

Contra Costa County:

• Antioch
• Concord
• El Sobrante
• Hercules
• Martinez
• Pinole
• Pittsburg
• Pleasant Hill
• Richmond
• Rodeo
• Walnut Creek

Napa County:

• All cities except Yountville

Santa Clara County:

• Miliptas
• San Jose

San Francisco County: 

• The City of San Francisco

Sonoma County:

• Cotati
• Penngrove
• Rohnert Park
• Santa Rosa

Other Bay Area counties and cities in the above counties but not listed are only eligible to receive Green House Call kits.

Additionally, the following cities are not on the PG&E grid and are therefore ineligible for in-person or virtual services:

• Alameda (city and island)
• Healdsburg
• The City of Santa Clara
• Palo Alto

California utility ratepayers pay a small Public Purpose Program charge on their bills that go back to conservation programs, including Rising Sun’s youth workforce development program, Climate Careers, which performs Green House Calls.

In the Bay Area, we partner with the Bay Area Regional Energy Network, local municipalities, water districts, and other local organizations to bring Climate Careers Green House Calls to local residents.

In Central California, we offer this program under a contract with the Central California Rural Regional Energy Network, which is funded by California utility ratepayers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

California consumers are not obligated to purchase any full fee service or other service not funded by this program.
